Boynton Beach Waves

Here is a small collection of photos and videos taken in Boynton Beach FL
on 2013 March 3rd, 9th, 10th.

As most of you likely know, I relocated from Maryland to Southern Florida in 2012 November. To my surprise, March turned out the coldest month here. Neither in December, nor in January, nor in February it was that cold how it is in March : sometimes during night hours the temperature falls to 6°C...7°C / 43°F..44°F, and it is very windy here in March...
However, despite of that the water in the ocean is warn : 20°C..22°C / 70°F..72°F... It creates a very interesting effect when I walk along the beach : a chilling wind brings cold while each wave brings a portion of warm air from the sea...

Now, the pictures and videos...

On March 3rd I walked along the beach from Boynton Beach to Delray Beach ( ~ 6 miles / 9 km ) and observed some works in the ocean, very close to the beach. There were two vessels : big and small. The big one was connected to the beach with a thick pipe floating on the water. On the beach the pipe went into the ground. Sometimes a fountain appeared above the pipe. The small vessel was continuously moving around the big one... I don't know what those works were... But in the evening both vessels switched the lights on and the entire sites looked very nice...

On March 9th and 10th I didn't go that far... It was a strong wind blowing from the ocean and the waves rolled over the beach and then rolled back to the ocean forming strong rip currents and leaving on the beach the rivers running in parallel to the ocean...
However, despite of the rough ocean, there was a brave man sailing among the waves using something like parachute...
